Virgil the Guide
"Virgil The Guide" is our take on an Italian Pilsner. The name is
taken from The Divine Comedy--Virgil is the Italian guide that
leads Dante through the layers of Hell. This beer, much like Virgil,
is dry, with a very direct tone. It is light and uplifting, very limited
specialty malts were used in this to maintain a very light and pale
color. It is carbonated much higher than our normal beers in
keeping with the style, and to make sure the herbaceous hops
really pop on the pallet. The nose is herbaceous, with notes of
white wine, white nectarine, and peach. It is crisp, clean, and has
a very low malt profile to make sure the hop profile stands out.
Much like the nose the flavor is white nectarine, peach, with a
subtle malt finish, but very low. It is our attempt to make the
warmer days show up sooner.
Cheers!
