Roll Em' Easy, the classic song by Little Feat. The song is much
like this beer, rolling easy. Classic German lager profile but
aggressively hopped for that lovely IPA flavor. Smooth yet bitter,
this beer encompasses the best of both worlds--lovely lagers:
bready and crisp; with the aggressively hoppiness you'll find in
most IPA's. Copper in color with a thick white head that should
retain rather well through a double decoction method. We used
exclusively Galaxy and Elani hops in the boil as well as the dry
hop addition during fermentation for a strong hoppy presence
which is extracted through biotransformation. The nose is piney
with strong citrus notes in the background. The flavor has a malt
forward start but makes way for the hop profile which is
reminiscent of pine resin, fresh cut grass, peach, and subtle citrus
notes. Extremely complex and at a 4.5% ABV deserves a second...
or maybe third glass.
